Travel and Accommodations

When you arrive at the Kansas City Airport (MCI) you will have to take a shuttle, cab or rideshare service to Lawrence, KS. The ride can be somewhere between 45-50 minutes long. You can check with your hotel of choice to see whether they have a shuttle to and from Lawrence. Depending on the time of day a rideshare service/cab from the airport to Lawrence is somewhere between $70-$100.

The University of Kansas is at the top of a centrally located hill. Our conference will take place at the Hall Center for the Humanities, on the south side of campus. The most convenient place to stay in terms of distance—near both the Hall Center for the Humanities and the Downtown area—is The Oread, a nice hotel virtually on campus (prices are somewhere between $140-160/night). You can walk from this hotel to our venue in less than 10 minutes.

A similarly priced option, downtown, is The Eldridge Hotel. If you do stay here, many restaurants, pubs and interesting boutiques will be around the corner.

There are also more budget friendly options on the northwest side of campus and about a 7-minute drive from our venue. Here are a couple of suggestions:

Days Inn By Windham KU (~$50/night)

Baymont by Wyndham Lawrence (~$90)

If you are planning to book a place through services such as airbnb the most convenient area of the Lawrence grid is within the following four streets: west of Iowa St., east of New Hampshire St, south of 9th and north of 23rd. The furthest point within this area is still only within 30 minutes walking distance to the KU campus. If you are using rideshare apps such as Uber or Lyft almost everything in Lawrence is within a ten minute ride (~$7-$11).

Please be advised that there is no registration fee required for our conference. We will provide presenters with a name tag as well as with lunch, coffee, and snacks through out the event. Please let us know if you have any further questions.

Looking forward to seeing you all at the University of Kansas in Lawrence,
